Six Great Last Minute Photos Gifts
PHOTO-CENTRIC GIFTS FOR YOUR PHOTO FRIENDS
If you are down to the wire or just want something more to top off the season’s gift giving, here are some ideas that you can get your hands on with zero lead time.
STORAGE

Everyone needs more storage. And the more the better. It’s not sexy but it’s essential. The digital gift equivalent to socks or new gym bag. Over time, we’ve all accumulated a collection of flash drives, camera cards, old devices, and tiny drives.
Getting all the photos and videos off of all those random volumes and onto one manageable place is key to smart photo organizing. A 2TB Hard Drive can be had for under $75 and is available at your local office or electronics store. A 4TB drive is even better. A sweetener is for you to move all the stuff onto it for them.
And don’t worry about a Solid State Drive (SSD) unless your person has specifically asked for one. Better to spend the extra money on a bigger drive than go for state of the art.
MOMENTUM DASHBOARD
If your giftee spends most of the day on their Mac, the Momentum Dashboard is a wonderful addition to their daily workstyle. A year’s subscription gets them a browser homepage with task lists, notes, calendar, daily inspirations, website links, countdown timers, Pomodoro, weather widgets, and much more, all overlaying a new world photo background each day or upload your own. It can even deliver ambient background sounds like a coffee shop or rainstorm. Adds a nice measure of spice and organization to the workday. Completely customizable and fun. BACKUP BATTERY
Older iPhones can be short on power at the end of a busy day. Nothing’s worse than an iPhone without power. If that’s someone you know, always running low, a portable backup battery may be the ticket.
There are plenty on the market that are small enough to live in a purse or backpack and will top off an iPhone or two, headphones, iPad, and the like. Especially good for the travelers in your circle. Again, your local office or electronics store will have these.
MINI IPHONE TRIPOD
Everyone should have a stand for their iPhone to FaceTime and for group selfies, time-lapse photos, video and low light. There are really small ones that are easy to pack away and bigger ones that can extend to eye height. Some come with a remote camera shutter release too. It’s the kind of thing that you don’t appreciate until you have one and then it becomes an essential accessory. Check your local electronics and mobile photo stores.
